SENSOR is located in Brescia Via Valotti 9, hosted (available space for  labs and offices, 300 m2)  by Engineering Faculty of Brescia.

SENSOR plan to transfer its equipment  in a new location inside the university campus made available in the premises of CSMT, acronym for Multi-Sector Service and Technological Centre - http://www.csmt.it/ , a public/private consortium.

HOW TO REACH THE SENSOR LAB

Brescia is located in the Italian region of Lombardia, between Milano and Venezia.

A. How to get to Brescia;
B. How to get to the SENSOR Lab from Brescia railway station.

A) How to get to Brescia

If you come by plane you can land at the following airports:
Milano Malpensa and Milano Linate ( http://www.sea-aeroportimilano.it ),
Bergamo - Orio al Serio ( http://www.sacbo.it ), sometimes called Milano-Bergamo
Verona Villafranca - (Valerio Catullo Airport, http://www.aeroportoverona.it ),
Brescia – Montichiari (D'Annunzio Airport, a little airport, only connected to London Stanstead at the moment: http://www.aeroportoverona.it ).

From the airports it is possible to reach Brescia by:

Bus to station + train

Bus direct to Brescia,
Car,
Taxi.

1) Bus + Train

From Milano-Malpensa and from Milano-Linate it is possible to reach Milan (Centrale) Railway Station and to take a train to Brescia. From Milano-Linate you pass through the secondary station of Milano Lambrate, from where local trains leave.

The connection between the Milano-Linate airport and the stations (Centrale and Lambrate) is assured by buses which leave every 30 minutes. The journey takes about 15 minutes for Lambrate and 30 to Centrale (on the same bus line, bus first stops in Lambrate). By taxi, from Linate to the station, it takes 20 minutes and costs ~25 €.

The connection between the Milano-Malpensa airport and Milano Stazione Centrale is assured by two bus companies (buses should leave every 15-30 minutes, actually they leave when the bus is full). A single ticket costs 6.5/7 € and the journey takes about 60 minutes. By taxi, from Malpensa to Milano, it takes 50 minutes and costs 70 €.

There is also a train, which sadly arrives at a station (Milano Cadorna), where no train for Brescia leave from. You would have to take the metro to Milan Centrale.

Take a look at the train schedules http://www.trenitalia.com (Italian trains) or http://bahn.hafas.de/bin/query.exe/en (German, covers Europe)

Brescia is on the Turin-Milan-Venice railway line. From Centrale leave both fast trains (Eurostar City, EScity) and slower but cheaper trains (Regionali, R). The first stop of the slower trains is Lambrate. A fast train leaves at about every hour, so do slower trains. The journey takes about 50 minfor the fast ones and 70 for the Regionali.

From Verona Villafranca it is possible to reach Verona Railway Station and to take a train to Brescia. For connection between the airport and Verona, see, http://www.aeroportoverona.it
From Verona to Brescia: Brescia is on the Venice-Milan-Turin railway line; A train leaves about every hour, and the journey takes about 1 hour.

From Bergamo the fastest connection is by direct bus to Brescia (see below). Direct busses don't leave often, so you may want to reach Bergamo station (15 minutes by city bus) and then take a slow (~1h) train to Brescia.

2) Direct Bus to Brescia

This solution is preferred for the nearer airports, like Bergamo and Brescia. Please look on the corresponding airport websites for timetables. The bus arrive just near to Brescia railway station.

3) By car

Brescia is on the A4 Milano-Venezia Motorway (Autostrada). In Brescia there are several Motorway exits. It's easier to reach the University from the exit 'Brescia-Ovest'. From there follow the indication Hospital or Stadium (the Engineering Faculty is between Hospital and Stadium).

From Milano-Linate drive towars Milano on the A1 and then join the A4 (to Venezia).
From Milano-Malpensa follow the signs to the A8 which goes directly to Milano. Then take the A4 (to Venezia).
From Bergamo Orio al Serio drive towards Motorway A4 (to Venezia).
From Villafranca Verona drive towards Motorway A4 (to Milan).

4) By Taxi... from the airports to Brescia it is really expensive.

B) How to get to the SENSOR Lab from Brescia railway station.

Buses from Brescia railway station to university

Take either bus 1 (to Mompiano) or bus 15 (to Villaggio Montini) or bus 7 to Caino. The bus stop is in front of the railway station (cross the road, the bus stop is by the porticos).

There is a bus every 10 minutes during the day (every hour or so after 8pm), and it takes about 25 minutes to get to the university (5 min more for line 15).

Tickets have to be bought before getting on the bus, and are sold in news-stands and tobacconist’s shops. A single ticket costs 1 €, and has to be validated in the machine on the bus.

For buses 1 and 7 get off in Viale Europa, corner Via Branze (two stops after the Hospital), for bus 7 get off at the corner between via Triumplina and via Branze.
